1. What Data We Collect

Translator Bot collects and stores the following data:

• Discord User ID — to associate your language preference and auto-translate setting.
• Language preference — the language you choose for translations.
• Auto-translate setting — whether automatic translation is enabled for your account.

2. What Data We Do NOT Store

• We do not store message content. Messages are read in real-time for translation and immediately discarded.
• We do not log or store translated text.
• We do not collect usernames, email addresses, or any personal information beyond your Discord User ID.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Your language preference is used to determine which language to translate messages into.
• Your auto-translate setting is used to decide whether to automatically translate messages in channels you participate in.

4. Third-Party Services

Message content is sent to the Google Gemini API for translation and language detection. Google's usage of this data is governed by their own Privacy Policy. We do not send any user identification data to Google — only the message text.

5. Data Storage & Security

User settings are stored in a local SQLite database on our server. We take reasonable measures to protect this data, but no system is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as you use the bot. To delete your data, simply remove the bot from your server or contact us to request data deletion. You can also use /autotranslate off to disable automatic translation at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

The bot is not intended for users under the age of 13, in accordance with Discord's Terms of Service.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Continued use of the bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
